CARDIS
Catalogue of trades,
professions or traditional jobs in risk of disappearance in Europe
The two-year project CARIDIS - “Catalogue of trades, professions or
traditional jobs in risk of disappearance in Europe” commenced in September
2011 and is funded by the Lifelong Learning Program as a GRUNDTVIG
Partnership. CARIDIS is focused on the creation of a catalogue of trades,
professions or traditional jobs in risk of disappearance in Europe with the
aim to increase in the adult learners the level of social participation and
civil engagement and also to promote better awareness, understanding,
respect and integration of socio-cultural similarities and differences
within Europe.
The coordinator is Dr. Sergio Sanchez Sevilla of Instituto de Formacion
Interdisciplinar C.B. (Spain) and apart from our school, the partner
institutions are: FUN & LEARN-Verein zur Forderung der Bildung und der
sinnvollen Freizeitgestaltung (Austria), Institut fur interkulturelle
Kompetenz (IIK) e.V. (Germany), Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Pietro
Scalcerle (Ιtaly), Liceo Classico e Scientifico “Publio Virgilio Marone” di
Vico de Gargano(FG) (Ιtaly) and Meritum-Expats Specialists SP.ZO.O (Poland).
Core of the project CARIDIS is the application of alternative teaching /
learning methods on entrepreneurship and “learning to learn” so as to
improve the quality and attractiveness of adult education. The project aims
to develop: a manual of good practices applied to adult education, a
catalogue of trades, professions or traditional jobs in risk of
disappearance in Europe and a project website. Teachers and students will
also participate in the transnational meetings of the partnership.
